Karrie Edwards, Textbook Training Coordinator

PURPOSEFUL DESIGN MATH, SCIENCE, SPELLING AND BIBLE SUPPORT SPECIALIST

In June of 2018, Karrie became ACSI's Textbook Training and Development Coordinator. Prior to that, Karrie taught a combined fifth and sixth grade class. She was also the yearbook advisor and field day organizer, and she assisted with professional development for staff members. Her strengths include teaching in multi-grade classrooms, creating effective differentiated instruction, and leading by example. Karrie used Purposeful Design Math, Science, Bible, and Spelling in her classroom. She enjoys outdoor activities, gardening, serving her church, and raising her two boys. Contact Karrie.

Kim is a fifth grade teacher. Besides teaching, she is the Athletic Director and Girls Volleyball and Basketball coach. Her strength is engaging her students in a deeper learning. Outside of school, Kimberly enjoys spending time with her family.

Purposeful Design Math and Science Trainer

Heather is a third grade teacher and a Purposeful Design Math and Science Trainer. She is passionate about engaging her students and creating an excitement for learning. Heather currently uses Purposeful Design Science and Spelling in her third grade classroom. She loves the Biblical approach of the series and the hands-on approach to learning. Heather’s class also has science lab once a week to enhance learning.

Jenny Hanson, First and Second Grade Teacher

Purposeful Design Math and Science Trainer

Jenny is a 1st and 2nd grade teacher at Fountain City Christian School in Bryan, Ohio. She is a Purposeful Design Math and Science Textbook Trainer. Outside of school, Jenny enjoys traveling, playing the guitar and piano, running, and connecting with friends.

Pam Lucido, Third Grade Teacher

Purposeful Design Math, Science, Spelling, and Bible Trainer

Pam is the lead third grade teacher at her school. She enjoys teaching math and science and providing a variety of learning strategies. Pam says she is improving on using technology in the classroom. She also encourages a positive community and teaches peer support in many projects. Outside of school, Pam enjoys spending time with her family, the outdoors, and swimming for exercise. Pam uses Purposeful Design Math, Science, and Spelling in her classroom. She uses many of the suggested activities, experiments, and manipulatives to support the teaching process.

Purposeful Design Textbook Trainer

Ruth has been part of Christian Education for over 10 years, as a teacher and an administrator. Currently she is an Assistant Principal at Evangel Christian School, located in NYC, specifically assisting with Title 1, Middle School, Electives and Specials. She is a Math, Science, Spelling and Bible Purposeful Design Trainer. She has used PD textbooks in Math, Spelling and Science. She considers herself a Christian Education Advocate (CEA) and believes wholeheartedly in the importance of its impact on children. Her own two daughters Tiffany (sophomore in college) and Katelyn (10th grader) both are a testimony of that impact.

Dedra Pease, Principal / Middle School Teacher

Purposeful Design Math, Science, Bible and Spelling Trainer

Dedra is a middle school science teacher. She also teaches language arts, math, and earth science. Her strengths are communicating in a way students can understand, and developing and maintaining a safe, structured environment where learning takes place. Dedra enjoys reading and spending time with her family. Dedra’s school has used Purposeful Design Math since its initial publication.

Purposeful Design Math and Science Trainer

Glenn began his career in education in 1996 teaching 2nd and 3rd grade and students with special needs for eleven years in Wilmington, NC. In 2007 he joined Myrtle Grove Christian School to serve as Lower School Principal and the Director of Admissions. Glenn earned his B.A. in elementary education with a minor in art history from UNCW. He returned to UNCW and earned an M. Ed. in curriculum, instruction, and supervision. He enjoys boating, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his wife and two children.

Beth Winegar, Administrator

Purposeful Design Math and Science Trainer

Beth has been the Administrator at Columbia County Christian School in Warren, Oregon since 2012. At the school she has taught Purposeful Design 6th grade math and science and middle school math Intermediate A. She is a Purposeful Design Math, Science, Bible and Spelling Textbook Trainer. Beth is an Occupational Therapist by trade and loves bringing her experience in this field to the classroom and to the school. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, running the sound system at church, traveling and spending time with her husband and two children.
